Grandma: What was one of the first things you did when you arrived?
Marenka: Marenka went to work.
Freya: Don't write that down!!!
Grandma: I guess it's part of the story.
Freya: Oooohhh!

| Scooter In Berkeley |

We will show photos of some of the following activities.
Freya created a lot of art. We bought a first scooter, because Grandma wanted Freya to have wheels and learn
to balance. Freya didn't want another two wheeled bike but the idea of a scooter was exciting. One day Freya and
two neighbor's children, Ava and Jack, scootered down three hills together towards Larkey Park playground. Their mom, Maria, drove
us home which was all uphill.
Freya also played with Camden on his trampoline next door, and with Julia and Jordan in their backyard pool. When the
weather got hot in Walnut Creek we went to Larkey Park pool. We made an ice cream cone at home with soy ice cream, and
another day made homemade oatmeal cookies. Marenka and Freya had a lot of fun together doing different adventures including
going to capoeira, and this may have jump started Freya's interest in martial arts. We enrolled in Poekoelan Tjimmidie Tulan
martial arts in Oakland for four weeks ending July 22.
Some places we didn't take any photos: A visit to Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, The Marin Headlands youth hostel, hiking
on the headlands and watching the fog come in, and Golden Gate Park playground and Carousel.
